Asphalt Milling & Surface Removal

Precise pavement removal that restores grade and gives a new overlay a clean surface to bond to.

Milling grinds away the top layer of damaged or out-of-grade pavement to the exact depth a job calls for. It restores proper slope and drainage, clears transitions at curbs and entrances, and leaves a textured surface that new asphalt can grip.

It is the step that makes the difference between an overlay that lasts and one that fails early. Skip it and the new layer sits too high and never bonds the way it should. We mill, haul off the grindings, and leave a clean surface ready to pave.

Why It Matters

Precise depth control

We grind to the exact depth the job needs, no more and no less.

Restores grade & drainage

Milling brings the surface back to proper slope so water moves the way it should.

Clean bonding surface

A milled texture gives the new overlay something to lock into.

How We Do It

01

Set the depth

Mark out areas and set milling depth to restore grade and clear transitions.

02

Mill the surface

Grind off the damaged or high pavement in a controlled, even pass.

03

Clean up

Sweep and haul off the grindings, leaving a clean surface ready for overlay.

Common Questions

Why mill before an overlay?

Milling keeps the new surface at the right height at curbs, gutters, and doorways, and gives the asphalt a textured surface to bond to. Without it, an overlay can sit too high and separate over time.

What happens to the milled material?

We haul off the grindings. Reclaimed asphalt can often be reused as base material, which is one reason milling is an efficient first step in a rehab.
